Got some nasty hardplate or glass relockers that make a drill attack through the safe door problematic? Use our Bolt Drilling Kit instead side-drill the container and sever the bolt from the lock. Drill a 3/8" hole in either side or the top of the safe, directly in-line with the lock bolt. Slide a Bolt Drilling Guide Tube through the drilled hole and insert the machined slot at the end of the tube over the lock bolt. Secure the Drill Guide Tube with a pair of locking pliers then use a 1/4" drill bit down the Drill Guide Tube to dimple the lock bolt (drill at at least 1/4" in the side of the lock bolt). Now, remove the Drill Guide Tube and insert your 24" long 3/8" drill bit through the side of the safe until the tip is centered in the 1/4" hole you just drilled in the side of the lock bolt. The 1/4" hole serves as a center drill to prevent the larger, 3/8" drill bit from walking. Using light to moderate pressure, slowly drilling through through the lock bolt (requires a drilling depth of ~1" to sever bolt completely). Once the lock bolt is severed, remove the drill bit and turn the safe handle. The bolt works should now pass the lock bolt without issue, allowing the safe to me opened without front drilling.
